Hello all, sorry I've been so quite of late, but I just reasently quit my job at Ditchwitch. My last night was the 12 of Jan 06. I've been working with Go Electric for the last 3 weeks now.
The owner is an older man about 52 in poor health and no employees, his busness has been on the rocks now for the last 3 months about the same time I started working for him part time.
Any way he made me an offer to be his partner about the same time I got another offer to be and electrician for another Electriician here in Stillwater. So I told the second person Harrison Electric that I was going to try my hand with Go Electric till the end of Feb, they said that was fine but to check back with them if things didn't work out.
So here I am, through many hours and days of hard work I've managed to bring in about $6000 dollars in the past 3 weeks, no I've not got to pocket any of this money as of yet.
Go Electric as I said has been on hard times and this money has helped put them back on level ground, so if all continues to go well any money that comes in from this time forward will be shared with me after materials have been paid for.
I know this is very chancy to say the least, but I've never been happer with the work I'm doing. I'm dealing with customers and suppliers and learning how to make bids on houses. We still have at least 2 houses to start wiring and one that just needs the finish work to be done on it as soon as the pianters are through.
One of the two house's I started to day nailing all the boxes for the outlets and switches on the walls tommorrow I'll start running the wire.
The deal with Freeman Electric feel thourgh because Freeman 1st he was going to leave the state which meant that we couldn't work under his contractors licence, then he reconcidered moving because he was getting so much work and trying to start up in a new state would have been to expensive.
Sounds bad for me, but no befor he changed his mind about leaving the state he sold me nearly all of his power tools and ladders so that when the time comes I would be ready to start my own business. So I'm not sure what he's doiing for tools and ladders. With the help of my Dad I was able to buy all the tools and ladders at about half the price of new, so instead of paying $3000 I only spent $1500.
Now I'm getting to use these tools and ladders while working with Go Electric, I also have purchased a 1991 chevey truck yea haw for me.
I knew this was going to be tough when I stepped into it and I knew how bad off Go Electric was before makeing this move.
But I really want to believe that given the chance I can make this work and if Go Electric hadn't been in debt I'd have pocket money right now or maybe I'd have been just another employee. Either way things are a little rough, but I and my family are doing fine, eveyone is healthy and Atira is doing very good on her potty training, I get to see my kids more than I ever did working for FTI or Ditchwitch.
And Rick I haven't forgotten you either, sorry I haven't caught up wtih you. One good thing is I had to do two rewires just like your house each one took me about 46 hours to complete using minimal help. Thanks to your house I had the experience to deal more effectively with the rewiring. We changed $3700 for the two rewires the two together are still some what smaller than your house.
So I'll be giving you a call on Saturday in the evening if that's good for you to set up a time to come down and return to the house project.
I sure hope eveyone else is doing well, sure wish I had more time to responsed or even just keep up on the reading for this web site, but it's tough for now. Have you gotten any other voices like mine here or am I just the last of my kind a dieing breed (a dead horse that just won't stay dead).
I'll be back on tommorrow Guys and Gals
Till then say bat channel same bat time.
