This week we decided to change our phone service. We are switching to the cable company which provides VOIP services for about $40. I know that Vonage is cheaper ($25), but we've been waiting for them to add our area code for 1 1/2 years. None of the internet companies have added ours yet, and I need to keep my area code as it is for my poor students.
Anyway, the reason I am telling you this is because Jenn called the cable people on the 18th or so. They said they would be out on the 28th to hook us up and that they would seamlessly disconnect us from SBC so that there will be no interruption of service.
That was a lie.
Our phone was cut on Thursday--I assume on the orders of the good folks at the cable company--and won't get switched back on till the end of next week. So you won't be able to reach us by phone for a week. After that, expect to be chatted up regularly!
