For those who know David and Melissa, here's some good news: Rachel Emily Hamby, was born at 11:25 a.m., Monday, June 19. She was 21.5 inches long and weighed 9 pounds and 9 ounces. Both mother and daughter (and dad and big sister) are doing well. You can see some pix and leave a comment here: hamby95.blogspot.com/

Thanks for the posting. It's amazing how much you forget about the hallucinations that come from consistent sleep deprivation and middle of the night diaper changes. Ahhhh .. the good times continue. Wishing you all well.

I've come to the opinion that couples that have children should, out of necessity, take shifts where concerning the child. If you want to be able to maintain your life away from the child, I think the days must be separated into 3 separate 8 hour shifts. One for work, one for sleep, one for baby. That way, you're able to do your normal workday, get enough sleep, and the child is still well taken care of. Of course, this requires three separate adults for each child, but that's what concubines are for, now aren't they?
