I don't have to work today, and my RNC hasn't yet arrived. So, I could put up either the FTP or the radio server if anyone wanted. Please tell me in this thread if you do and what times are best for you.

Just a second, Chris. I am having some port troubles. I am trying to open 8000 but I keep getting an error. Sorry. Just a sec...

Justin and I tried to get it to work. I don't know what the problem is exactly. Still working on it.
The ftp server is up, but something is not working...

I've tried to sign on every way I know, and I can't get up.
it keeps saying it's retrieving the list of files, but just goes on forever.

Damn. I saw you try to get on just now. This is clearly more complicated than the radio. Maybe I need to do more research. Could we try again at another time that works for you, Chris?

Can you try one last time.? I kicked you from the cue. It was using the old port information. Cross you fingers.

You saw me try to get on? What, did you install spyware on my machine or something?! 8^)
Well... I'm going to be gone most of this weekend, up in N.H. I'll be around tonight, but I'll be working and unable to check here frequently. Call me at my cell (in the contacts page) if you try again tonight.

Well, thanks. I had this working the other day. Then I found a site that checked access to my files and everything. But for some reason my computer is fussing with port 8000 tonight. It works partially; it lets you in but that's it. I keep getting port errors on my side, too.

Hey Tyler can you test this for me since you are on now: Go here: 68.203.212.90:21 login: indigenet password: (justin's language) see if you can see the files. Pretty please, with sugar and a cherry on top! Dash it all. You bailed. Well, I think the problem was me confusing the administration port with the listen port. And I think that I've got it sorted out. I hope!

Okay, Chris: Justin and I did a test today (Saturday) at 3:50 and everything was working again. My problem was this: There is a server app, which runs invisibly, and an interface app. They split it in two because it allows an administrator to remote administer the server. Cool idea, but it means that there are two sets of port addresses to specify: one for the admin and one for all the clients. Further since there are two apps to run the server they have to be specified in each one. I had specified port 8000 for the admin port in the server and for the client port in the interface. That is what was causing my machine to freak out. Anyway, I've sorted it all out now. I am just going to leave the ftp up if anyone wants any of those files. It's not on port 8000 anymore: 68.203.212.90:21 You don't even need the password now since I'm allowing anonymous access. So just point your client that way (and even IE can be used as such) and you're good to go. Jeff
