Cory,
I know NOTHING about tattoo art. I've seen a few tattoos, but I have no idea what are the aesthetic criteria for their evaluation. I can tell you that the above images strike me as both frightening and funny. The exact word is "grotesque," but only if it is drained of its usual pejorative connotation. I mean only that they are fascinating in their tendency to distort. Another word that comes to mind is "fantastic," in the sense of strange in form, an image that has its most natural home in the mind.
I dig 'em. But I wouldn't like to dream about them.

I think I've seen these before. Or have I? Were you working on these when I came up in May? Anyway, I really like the art. Cory you are perhaps the best renderer I know. Of course I say that not really knowing Dave's work. But I'm always impressed by the things you are able to draw. These remind me of some kind of Chinese/Tibetan masks. Almost like the Tragedy/Comedy masks used for theater, with Tibetan flair. Very cool.
They scare the hell out of me. I don't think I could have them tattooed on my skin.
