Pat Robertson said the following on today's 700 Club: “I’d like to say to the good citizens of Dover: if there is a disaster in your area, don’t turn to God, you just rejected him from your city. And don’t wonder why he hasn’t helped you when problems begin, if they begin. I’m not saying they will, but if they do, just remember, you just voted God out of your city. And if that’s the case, don’t ask for his help because he might not be there.” Video: media.pfaw.org/video/pfaw/pfawvideo.aspVoice of YHWH or mouth of Sauron?

This is what discusses me the most, I'm a christian, I believe in the literal translation of the bible, I believe that salvation comes only from believeing in Jesus and that God is all powerful.
Yet, people like this are who the world assosiate with the word Christian. I don't know if Pat or the 700club are believers or not that's between them and God. But when he or others start spouting crap like that, cause their head knows better. I just want to take a blow torch to the lot of them.
I guess since the corrupt world has Hi jacked the name chirstian that I'll just have to come up with a new name to referr to what I believe in so people don't automaticlly put me in the same catagory as crack pots like the 700 club.
If what Pat was even remotly true, then how would he have explained Sodem and Gamora, True God already knew their was only one Righteous man their and he needed a serious scrub down, but he would have spared that city(s) if there had been even 10 maybe Abraham stopped to soon who knows. God has shown mercy on large groups because of the faithfulness of a few and even in this day and time I don't believe that just because of a vote one way or another isn't going to bring on or prevent God's wrath if this even was what it was (I don't believe anyone can say such a thing with certainty) Only God knows why such disaster happened.
I could possible see where if there was say a whole city full of murders and worst say like in the show Escape from New York and it was swallowed up by some natural disater, then maybe and mean maybe someone could say that was God's hand clensing evil away. But still that's a big if, cause since we got God's written word handed to us we have no need for the gift of Proficy or profits untill the end times and even then two will come back from the dead to share the gosiple.
So if Pat and the 700 club wants to do christainity some good maybe he should shut up until he can pull his head out of his ass.
Other wise he just gives the Tylers and others of the world one more reason to hate or reject the teachings of Christ.
Ok I've had my rant some one else can use my soap box if you like.

Relevant discussion: Is the intelligent designer loving or vindictive? www.slate.com/id/2130282/"If they have future problems in Dover, I recommend they call on Charles Darwin. Maybe he can help them," Robertson joked the other day. Since the immediate problem in Dover is figuring out which theories are scientific, that's not bad advice. At least Darwin is predictable.

God has more messages for you: Vatican: Active gays unwelcome in priesthood www.cnn.com/2005/WORLD/europe/11/22/vatican.gays.ap/index.html"Those people find themselves, in fact, in a situation that presents a grave obstacle to a correct relationship with men and women. One cannot ignore the negative consequences that can stem from the ordination of people with deeply rooted homosexual tendencies."

Just when does it become a cry for help? www.msnbc.msn.com/id/10728347/Christian broadcaster Pat Robertson suggested Thursday that Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon’s stroke was divine punishment for “dividing God’s land.”

I caught the end of a segment on CNN the other day regarding Pat Robertson. They were going over viewer responses to the question: Is Pat Robertson a Christian? One of the responses was "Pat Robertson is not a Christian. He's just pimpin' Jesus."

If Pat Robertson ever has a stroke, I think it really would be divine punishment.

Christian broadcaster Pat Robertson suggested Thursday that Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon’s stroke was divine punishment for “dividing God’s land.” I was just wonderin, isn't this something the old testament god would do?

A little bit subtle for the old school Jehovah. A little brimstone on Sharon's house would have been more apropos.
