It’s not too early to start thinking about our 22nd annual Christmas Party. (How old do you feel?) The first order of business is to set a time and place. When Rick was here in June, he volunteered the use of his house, again. So, if that offer still stands, that sounds like a pretty central location. (On the other hand, if we held the festivities in Pawhuska we might stand a better chance of getting Jason and Jessica to come.) My vote is for Rick’s place, but, as always, this is a group decision. As for the date, Rick, David, and I looked at a calendar briefly while they were here. Saturday, December, 16th looks like the best date. The following weekend, 22nd-24th, is too close to Christmas. What do you think? As for us, Maddie gets out of school at 1 PM on the 15th. My finals week runs from 11th-15th, and my grades are due on the 18th. Although I’ve never done it before, I think that I can get out of here on the 15th if I am careful with my work at the end of the semester. But I am not entirely sure. So, the 16th would probably work for us. Probably.
My final question—for now—is whether we want to do anything special this year. Is there anyone we want to be sure to invite? Do we want to make any provisions for live music? Etc… I am bringing our Chanupa and Joe and David have agreed to do some kind of ceremony for us. I am looking forward to that. I would like to see Chad participate in the ceremony.
Any other ideas? Oh, I am already working on a CD of the best new music I heard in 2006 just in case we don’t get to go.
