Speaking of filming your issue, have you heard of Current TV? It's Google's television network. Their content is entirely comprised of news and documentary segments filmed by average people and submitted via a website, which is (http://www.current.tv). I had it on DirecTV, and kind of enjoyed it. I liked the whole "viewer created content" idea. Each segment (they call 'em "pods") was about 10 minutes long, and the segments ranged from domestic issues to international issues to personality segments. It was kind of like CNN by the people. If I had the time, the equipment, and a social conscience, I'd try my hand at filming a pod.
