Here is a song Emily wrote today with absolutely no help from anyone. I hit the record button and did some post production but everything is hers. I asked her about the words. She told me most of them but didn't really explain the meaning. www.savefile.com/files/2188798 Kiuro-Emily I always love myself A can song, a chained thing I love that I love that I cannot miss I cannot mine I love that I love that Come on Come on I cannot give my Eachy my

I love that!!!
A funny little note: all of my songs in iTunes are listed in alphabetical order by Artist and Emily's song seems to be tucked in right above the Eurythmics Sweet Dreams. In my preferences there's a 2 second overlap in the songs so at the very end of Kiuro-Emily, Sweet Dreams started up. I was caught completely off guard and had to stop what I was doing to see what was going on. The cool thing though, the two songs kind of go well together.

BTW: I don't think Emily was aware of this but "Kiuro" means "foam" in Merutig.

Are you sure that's not a new Bjork tune? I think you're trying to pull a fast one here, Jeff!

Curio The Girls got up this morning with the will to record. Emily played the keyboards to make the loops. So, she wrote the bassline, programmed the drum loop, and did the high arp—the solo part at the end is the arp part done straight. Maddie led the way on the vocals. She found the tonic and hummed the line that appears in the song. Dad organized everything around Maddie’s basic way through the muddle that Emily laid down. So the song is really hers. (There is a found drum loop in the song. I procured that (from the Steinberg Groove Agent library) and used it to anchor the rhythm.) Not to be outdone, Emily laid down a final vocal track in which she sang parts from one of her favorite anime films, My Neighbor Tortoro. I think the only intelligible bit of that is “A magical adventure for you.” She also gave the song its title. I might tell you, that it was the kind words of Ryan and Rick that inspired them, so if you like this track and want more from the dynamic duo, your praise should do the trick. All I can say is "W O W !!!" The vocals, music and that great great humming, are pretty amazing. This song is now a permanent addition to my iTunes.
Thanks Texas McBrides! rickus

Okay, both of them are there.
The big difference between them is that the first one was a straight live performance. But this morning since they both wanted to play with my music stuff I had them program loops instead of just recording them straight.
Now, loops do make things a whole lot easier. But Maddie's insight was just so astounding to me. We had a mess of loops and no clear direction. Maddie heard them and started humming. I was fortunate enough to realize that her humming was PROFOUNDLY theoretical. It organized everything it touched.

I need to tell you that Emily loves the second song but hates the first one. When ever I play it she leaves the room. When she comes back, she is mad. "That is not what I wanted, Dad!"
