I used to roll my eyes and audibly sigh whenever children's music came on. After awhile, I got to where I would outwardly pretend to not like the music while silently committing the words and melody to memory. Now, I've dropped the pretense completely and stomp through the house singing Laurie Berkner songs at the top of my voice. Repeatedly. It's nice to know I'm not alone. www.slate.com/id/2134938/?GT1=7838

Nanda,
We love Laurie! Mind if I ask what are your personal favorites in her oeuvre?

I have only heard a few of her songs (Monster Boogie, I'm Gonna Catch You, I'm Not Perfect, Boots, I Really Love to Dance, I Know a Chicken) on Jack's Big Music Show. The one's that have stuck with me are Boots, Monster Boogie, and I'm Gonna Catch You (which I sing to Maya as I chase her down the hall).
Boots is easily my favorite Laurie song. I have that on a continual loop in my head most every day.

We dig using our shaky eggs during I Know a Chicken. I think that is a genius song. I wish they still played Laurie's old songs: Victor Vito, We are the Dinosaurs, Bumblebee, and Song in my Tummy. You can get a lot of the old songs here: www.noggin.com/shows/movemusic.phpIf you want to know more about Laurie: www.laurieberkner.com/meet.htmlAnd No! She doesn't do birthday parties. She's too big for that.
