Don’t forget Live 8 is tomorrow. It should be a really cool media event. Here is the website: ( www.live8live.com/ ). Also check out the website of the ONE campaign, which is Bono’s doing I think: ( www.one.org/ ). AOL has some Live 8 coverage: ( music.channel.aol.com/live_8_concert/home ), as does Wikipedia ( en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Live_8 ). The latter even includes a list of broadcasters of the concert in the US. Here is what they say:
“In the USA the coverage is as follows: MTV ( www.mtv.com/thinkmtv/features/global/live_8/ ), MTV2, MTVU (the new MTV University-oriented channel), and VH1 ( www.vh1.com/news/live_8/ ) will show most of the Live 8 concerts, switching back and forth from all eight of the shows and also showing recaps of Live Aid and as well as special content such as interviews with the stars and people behind Live 8. Coverage begins at Noon ET, just when the show in Philadelphia is underway.
Other Viacom-owned networks Country Music Television and VH1 Classic will air concert highlights the next day (July 3) featuring artists for their audiences. (Hence the Rome concert featuring Faith Hill and Tim McGraw for CMT and older artists or even veterans of Live Aid for VH1 Classic.)
ABC has bought the U.S. network television rights, licensed through America Online, and will air a two-hour highlights show in prime time on the day of the concert, July 2. The special will contain specially selected segments of the concerts.
XM Satellite Radio will carry the concerts live from Philadelphia, London, Paris, Berlin and Rome. No word yet if the other five concerts (Tokyo, Barrie, Johannesburg, Cornwall, and Edinburgh) will air on Satellite Radio as well.”
Here is a list of acts and their locations so you can know when to get excited.
