I suggest we rename the thread "Kid AA." That was hilarious.

Ryan, What is the problem about talking about "touchy subjects"? So I guess you would like the thread stopped so you can go back to talking about superficial things. I'm glad you only need pot to forfill your life. For me I need self-medication and a higher-power.
If I need to speak about a touchy subject I guess I won't do it on the indigenous site. I've seen women try to talk about touchy stuff on this site and get shut down. No problem.

Tammy,
I'm sorry. It wasn't my intention to offend you, or belittle you in my remarks. But I concede that, reading over what I said, it does sound exactly like that was my intention. I have no defense, but in interpreting why I felt compelled to write what I did, I think that there's a part of me that gets uncomfortable when I read tense correspondence involving a personal conflict, and it's my nature to try to make everybody laugh and then smooth the whole thing out. It's really kind of a stupid personality-quirk, because it never works, and it usually just ends up offending people unintentionally. The same personality-quirk is what prevents me from watching the so-called "reality" shows on TV. I cannot handle the manufactured conflicts between the people on those shows. It makes me change the channel every time.

Ryan, No harm done. I'm glad you responded. I like the uncomfortable subjects. But my childhood and my current job kind of make uncomfortable issues common occurrences. I like when people talk about real things. I like to talk about human nature.
The tread was ending anyway, those types always seem to end fairly quickly.
Everyone have a great day.

Below are two alcohol abuse screening sites and my results from their online tests. Today, many doctors say that moderate drinking (1-2 drinks a day) is good for you. The Mayo Clinic even says that that amount of drinking is probably good for you. Excessive drinking seems to be bad: More than 1-2 drinks a day or more than 4 drinks (for men) on one occasion ( www.mayoclinic.com/health/alcohol/SC00024 Notice the "Cons" are functions of excessive drinking, not moderate drinking). My drinking habits are as follows: On average I consume about a six pack per week. I generally drink 2 beers when I drink, and I do so about 3 times per week. In the last month I have been drunk twice, once because it was a Friday, and I just wanted to. And Saturday night because it was one of two year end faculty parties, and I just wanted to. Jenn was driving, so I felt like I could. 1. www.alcoholscreening.org/My results: "Your Results: Based on Your Responses: Your results do not suggest that a pattern of excess drinking is harming your health. However, the amount you reported consuming on at least one occasion may increase your risk for injury or other immediate consequences. This risk is associated with having more than 3 drinks per occasion if you are a woman or someone over 65, or 4 drinks per occasion if you are a man age 65 or younger. Recommended Action: Consider setting a safer personal limit for how much alcohol you consume on one occasion. For some people and in certain situations, no amount of alcohol is safe. Follow the link below to learn more about wise consumption limits, when it's not safe to drink at all, and the kinds of problems that excess alcohol can cause. This information will help you make informed health decisions about alcohol." 2. www2.netdoctor.co.uk/testyourself/alcoholdrinking.aspMy results: "You probably don't have any big problems with alcohol, but it would not harm you to cut down anyway!"
